Since 1954 Altex has grown to become one of the largest privately owned manufacturers of high performance coatings in Australasia, supplying a wide range of coating types and systems for almost every major industry sector. Our product range includes Epoxies, Polyurethanes, Alkyds, Vinyls, Solventless Coatings, Waterbornes, Tank Coatings, Flooring Coatings and Intumescent Coatings.
We offer an extensive flooring product line consisting of high performance industrial flooring, decorative seamless (including quartz) systems and concrete repair products and have a broad range of solutions for virtually every industrial application.
Our long standing relationship with Leigh Paints, the suppliers of the internationally renowned Firetex range of Intumescent Coatings, allows us to provide coatings to protect steel structures in both conventional and hydro-carbon fires. Intumescent coatings function by expanding under the heat of a fire to form an insulating carbonised layer that dramatically delays the time it takes for steel to reach deformation temperature, thereby in the event of a fire, allowing more time for people to escape.
