After 35 years the original Carboline protective system is still in excellent condition for the time spent in sea water.

The splash zone was found to have some corrosion >33% in accordance with ASTM D610-08, clearly the CP has had some influence over corrosion in this area when wet. The film builds were measured up to 1364µm.

There was some corrosion noted on the top decks.

The buoy has now been painted in accordance with an Altex specification.  The painting has been done by TBS Coatings, headed by Kerry Thomson.

The finished result is excellent.
